About Us

The Storm Brewing Company was formed in 1998 by Hugh Thompson and Dave Stebbings, joined by sales guy Patrick and Dexter the cat in the early 2000s. Operating from a former pub on Waterside in Macclesfield, they worked together for 15+ years, before Hugh and Patrick retired from Storm at the end of 2018. Dave worked with his son Tom and daughter Alice before retiring in 2022.

The team now consists of Tom, Joe and Jamie. Today the brewery continues to produce a core range of superb, award-winning ales, along with occasional new additions in the form of numbered "UXBs" (Unique Experimental Brews), featuring bold new flavours and powerful hop combinations.

Our beer is available in cask at many pubs around Cheshire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire, and a handful of others further afield. We also do bottles, and have recently begun packaging the beer in keg, and 330ml cans.
